War of Sticks: Lead Your Stick People to Freedom

The stick people have had enough. For too long they have lived under the Red Empire, and now it is time to break free. In War of Sticks, you lead the rebellion. Mine, build, equip, upgrade, attack and defend until your people are free.

It is made by Shoom Games, a developer based in Ukraine, and it was their first game on Poki. If you know the classic Stick War, you will recognise the idea: an economy at the back, an army at the front, and a battle in the middle.

Controls

• 🖱️ Mouse or finger: use the purchase buttons in the upper-left corner of the screen.
• ⛏️ Buy miners to collect gold.
• ⚔️ Buy units to build your army, and build towers for defence.

How to Build Your Army

Step 1: The Economy

Everything starts with miners. They collect gold, and gold pays for everything else. They also collect stone, which you need for buildings. More miners means more income, and more income means a bigger army later.

Step 2: The Army

Spend your gold on fighters. Each unit type has a role:

• 🛡️ Shielders: tough front-line soldiers who hold the line.
• 🏹 Archers: attack from a distance, behind the front line.
• 🪓 Barbarians: hard-hitting fighters who break enemy lines.
• 🧙 Wizards: powerful magic users with special attacks.

Step 3: Defence

Use the stone your miners collect to build defence towers. They protect your base while your army is busy elsewhere.

Upgrades

Don't forget to upgrade every unit and building. Upgraded units fight better, and upgraded buildings produce and protect more. Reaching the full limit of your power is the only way to defeat the Red Empire.

Strategy Tips

• Miners first. A strong economy early wins long battles. Don't spend everything on soldiers in the first minute.
• Mix your army. Shielders in front, archers and wizards behind. A balanced army beats a big army of one type.
• Defend before you attack. A few towers keep your miners safe while you build up.
• Upgrade what you use. If archers do most of your damage, upgrade them first.
• Attack at the right moment. Push forward when your army is at full strength, not one unit at a time.
